Epinions Hopefully not the end of Enders!

by  ChromeKiller, top reviewer in Games ,  May 31, 2001
Pros: Plenty of destruction lights the world up in beauty. Great story and music within!
Cons: The game's not long enough...I can't wait for a sequel.
The Bottom Line: This is most likely the best PlayStation 2 game so far. The game is flawless in gameplay and story. You won't want to miss out!
Review: Forget about Gundam Wing! Forget about Armored Core even (that's even hard for me). Engage yourself into a new mech war that'll compel even the most blind person alive. And ready up for a furious fighting action game called Zone of the Enders.

Epinions One of the first PS2 games to live up to its hype...mostly....

by  onetuffcowboy,  May 14, 2001
Pros: Smooth controls, nice graphics, enjoyable story, challenging but not too challenging, addictive two-player mode
Cons: Repetitive gameplay is the only thing keeping this game from five stars.
The Bottom Line: It's certainly not without its faults, but Zone of the Enders is a thoroughly enjoyable game for PlayStation2.
Review: Few game designers can be mentioned in same breath as Shigeru Miyamoto and Yu Suzuki, but one name that always comes up in conversation is Hideo Kojima, producer of Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation. Busy working on Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for...

Epinions Pretty good for a free game.

by  neverrealm,  Jun 7, 2001
Pros: great graphics, good sound, good story, comes with demo of MGS2, easy to control
Cons: extremely short, story sometimes too preachy
The Bottom Line: A good game considering that the main reason to buy it is the included MGS2 demo. Rest assured you are getting a good, if short, game with your demo.
Review: Let's face it, 95% of the people who bought this game, bought it for the MGS2 demo. If you don't know what Metal Gear Solid 2 is all about, buy this game now. The demo is worth the fifty bucks. But the game is also pretty good.

Zone of the...

Epinions A good game that could of been a Masterpiece

by  knight_m8,  May 11, 2001
Pros: Great graphics, controls, Metal Gear Solid 2 Demo included
Cons: Too short, weak story, characters(Leo), repeative gameplay, multiplayer mode
The Bottom Line: If this game didnt feature the MGS2 Demo, it would of gotten a lower rating...
Review: Zone of Enders is a pretty good game for the PS2, but it falls short of being a masterpiece of a game. Produced by the well known Hideo Kojima, the man behind the Metal Gear series, Zone of the Enders brings a mech game out like no other. First and...

Epinions Mech anime finally made it to the consoles.

by  mshea01,  Jun 3, 2001
Pros: Great control, graphics, sound, and story.
Cons: A bit repetitive after a bit, short
The Bottom Line: If you like mech anime style and have always wanted a game that felt like you were part of Robotech, this is the game for you.
Review: I was always a big fan of sci-fi anime. Give me a blue haired girl with eyes the size of basketballs and some huge robot destroying half of earth and I am a happy man. I had never played a game based on mech anime that I ever really enjoyed until I...

Epinions Get in the ZONE and Get this!

by  silence2k,  Jul 2, 2001
Pros: Gameplay is Fun, Love the moves and fighting. Easy to Play!
Cons: Almost to Easy to play, Gets Boring very quick, Takes some time
The Bottom Line: I must say, If your looking for a fun game to play with your friends then Zone of the Enders is probably the game to buy!
Review: Well Zone of the Enders being one the newest games for playstation 2 is personally one the better fighting games since the old street fighter days. Its like a glorified Mech Warrior/Wing Commander to me. Basically what you do is Fly around and goto...

Epinions A Great Mecha Simulation

by  chewyjj,  Jul 30, 2001
Pros: Great graphics & music. Awesome play control. Versus mode is cool.
Cons: Bad voice acting. Lack of variety of enemies. Short game.
The Bottom Line: A solid mech game. The battle system is awesome and easy to learn. More different enemies and making the game longer would be nice. Recommended to mech fans out there.
Review: Zone of the Enders was one of the most hyped games for PS2. The story of the game goes like this. You are Leo, a boy living in a space colony. A group of mechs is causing rampage to search for a secret new mech and you ended up piloting it. Now the...

Epinions METAL GEAR SOLID 2 sucks? (W/O) ZONE OF THE ENDERS is cool?

by  sephiroth2000,  Jun 30, 2001
Pros: ZONE OF THE ENDERS
Cons: METAL GEAR SOLID 2
The Bottom Line: MGS 2 dissapoints, ZONE OF THE ENDERS dazzles
Review: This Epinion includes both the Write-Off Epinion, on METAL GEAR SOLID 2 demo, and also the one on ZONE OF THE ENDERS. To view the Write-Off go directly to the part followed by the stars.

Note: The score on this game is for both together; to...

Epinions Fun gameplay, repetitive missions

by  kyuushu,  Jun 12, 2001
Pros: Great control, fast-paced action, nice graphics
Cons: Missions can get repetitive, enemies lack variety
The Bottom Line: Although Zone of the Enders suffers from repetitive missions, the combat is still fun. The included Metal Gear Solid 2 demo helps to keep things interesting as well.
Review: Zone of the Enders is a mech-action game that becomes a bit repetitive despite its good gameplay. Judging by the look and feel of the mechs, the game clearly has influences from animes like Gundam, Evangelion, and Escaflowne. Like those classic animes,...

Epinions Zone of the enders, taken by surprise...

by  karahl,  Mar 2, 2003
Pros: Aggressive combat. Good plot. Good control handling. Good overall idea.
Cons: Lousy voice script. Too short. Little suspense.
The Bottom Line: Rent it, but don't spend to own it. They creator came up with a great idea, but didn't take the time to make this a great game. Still, try it.
Review: I was taken by surprise alright. When the game just ended without warning. As with most of my PS2 experiences, this was a rented game; And thank god! While the game is definitely addictive, it lacks big time in some of its major departments.
